Jack, Grant, and Clark

Well I just finished my second day of my job as the nanny for Jack 9, Grant 7, and Clark 5. Since the boys school was canceled due to the ridiculously cold weather today I was with them from 7 this morning until just after 5 when their mom arrived home from work. And oh my goodness was it a crazy day! It was fun though, overall, with a few bumps and bruises... While they watched TV and movies I got to get quite a bit of my reading in my book done. I'm reading Memoirs of a Geisha, and it's really good. I haven't gotten very far but I haven't read an uninteresting part yet.

But back to babysitting, the highlights:

Good:
Grant and Clark helping me make lunch
All of the boys without questioning loading their breakfast and lunch dishes in the dishwasher
Jack doing exactly what I asked of him all day and thanking me very kindly for breakfast and lunch
Grant and Clark patiently learning how to play monopoly and then actually playing it with all the proper rules for about 20 minutes before deciding it was boring (haha I don't blame them).

Bad:
Grant throwing a metal toy car very hard at clarks head from about 2 feet away and then both Grant and Clark refusing to apologize for throwing things at each other because of course Clark started it...:o)
Clark's three tantrums during the day all three of which ended in tears and with me injured
The lack of Wii due to the house being painted today and the constant "Is the basement done yet?? All day waiting for the room to get re arranged so they could play the Wii again."

Despite the chaos, they really are great kids, I have no doubts that the job will be perfectly managable especially once they can play outside and go swimming during the day during the summer.

Well it's getting late...at least considering I need to arrive at their house tomorrow again at 7 if school is closed (which it most likely will be) But I'm sure I'll have lots more to report about it tomorrow. :o)
